Lana McGilvray has served in key executive marketing and communications management roles for sixteen years. As a principal at blast! PR, Lana provides strategic guidance to the firms' clients, including CMO advisory and crisis communications consulting.
Throughout Lana's career, she has: launched and managed top-ranked digital brands, helped take one company public and two to acquisition, helped establish multi-million dollar relationships with Fortune 500 clients and activated high-revenue partner and reseller channel relationships.
Well-known brands Lana has served include American Express, the Boston Globe, Church & Dwight, Chase, Lysol, Microsoft, New York Magazine, SONY, Tiffany & Co. and Turner Broadcasting.
Lana has been the recipient of numerous awards, a frequent contributor to industry publications and conferences and continues to serve in leadership roles across key organizations and committees.
Prior to joining blast! PR, Lana served as VP of Marketing for PulsePoint, a digital media technology company created from the merger of Datran Media and ContextWeb. From 2001-2010, Lana led marketing and PR efforts for Datran Media, SKYLIST and UnsubCentral. Earlier in her career, Lana served in key content, sales and marketing management positions with McCann-Erickson Worldwide, Concero, the City of White Plains and The Columbia Graduate School of Business (CITI).
Lana holds a BA in Communications from SUNY Albany, attended Fordham University's Graduate School for Public Communications on full scholarship and was awarded an assistantship managing the school's Telecommunications Policy RoundtableSeries in partnership with Columbia University's Graduate School of Business. During that time, Lana was privileged to work under the tutelage of two broadcasting and media and public service legends, Dr. Everett Parker and Dr. Eli Noam.
Lana spends most of her time in Austin and New York City with her husband, DJ Stout, a partner at Pentagram Design. Lana and DJ serve as directors for several arts boards, have enjoyed joint success teaming to raise awareness and funds for various charities, enjoy traveling and running marathons and are far outshined by their children, Patrick (26), Nicholas (22) and Lucy (4).
